The Wills and Probate department offers a range of services to members including Lasting Powers of Attorney, Trusts and Estate Administration. Our team have over 50 years collective experience in delivering high quality work in all matters relating to the area of Wills and Probate.
Due to this the team is able to offer a personal service, tailored to your specific circumstances and exact requirements. The team also provides discrete advice to members in all areas of Wills and Probate through the telephone advisory service.
Maddalena Proctor
Private Client and Civil Litigation Manager
Maddalena joined Unionline in January 2020 and has over 20 years’ experience in Wills, Trusts and Probate. Maddalena currently manages the Wills and Probate team, the Civil Litigation team, and the Employment Advice Line. Her experience includes administration of estates, inheritance tax planning and advice, drafting Wills and Trusts, drafting Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection matters. Maddalena is responsible for checking the Will documents drafted by the team along with reviewing and supervising any files handles by the team.
Harriet Prestwich
Wills & Probate, Civil Litigation and Employment Supervisor
Harriet joined Unionline in November 2021 in which she assisted in the Wills and Probate department providing legal advice on the helpline and drafting simple and Complex Wills.
Harriet was promoted to Senior Paralegal dealing with more complex matters including Probate and Estate Administration, Lasting Power of Attorneys, Court of Protection and assisting the team with their queries. Harriet also checks the Wills drafted by the Wills team members. And since then Harriet has again been promoted to her role of Wills & Probate, Civil Litigation and Employment Supervisor.
Cameron Clarke
Paralegal
Cameron joined Unionline as a Legal Advisor and Simple Will drafter in early 2022 after graduating Nottingham Trent Law School and has since progressed in the team, taking on bigger and more complicated duties. These duties include advice on and drafting multiple different private client matters such as complex Wills, trusts within Wills (such as Life Interest Trusts, Rights of Occupation and Discretionary Trusts), Lasting Power of Attorneys, Court of Protection and Deputyship, and many more.
Cameron has also started assisting the complex team in advising on general probate enquires and drafting initial estate administration letters and is looking forward to learning much more. Cameron has recently enrolled onto the STEP course and is working towards his STEP diploma.
Caitlin Coley
Senior Paralegal
Caitlin graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a LLB Law Degree in 2019. She joined Unionline in March 2022 as a Legal Advisor in the Wills and Probate Department, providing legal advice on the helpline and drafting simple and complex Wills, including Life Interest Trust Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney applications. Recently Caitlin has been promoted to a Paralegal dealing with more complex matters including Probate and Estate Administration and Court of Protection Applications.
Caitlin enrolled in the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners (STEP) course and completed The Advanced Certificate in Administration of Estates in June 2023. Caitlin is working towards her STEP diploma, starting the Advanced Certificate in Will Preparation in January 2024.
Eve Topham
Paralegal
Eve started at Unionline in October 2023 as a placement student from Sheffield Hallam University allowing her to gain legal experience in the field. Following her Law Degree, Eve has now joined the team as a Legal Advisor in the Wills & Probate Department. Eve’s role includes providing advice to members through the helpline as well as drafting simple and complex wills, including Life Interest Trusts.
Eve is looking forward to developing her knowledge and understanding of more complex wills and probate matters in the coming months.
Eve thoroughly enjoys travelling and socialising with friends.
Sofhia Ramos
Paralegal
Sofhia completed her undergraduate Law degree at Oxford Brookes University in June 2021. In September 2021, she moved to Sheffield to start her first legal role in a law firm specialising in Wills & Probate whilst beginning the two-year part-time weekend Legal Practice Course with the integrated Master’s degree.
Sofhia joined Unionline in October 2022 to gain further experience in a different area of law. She began as an Employment Legal Advisor advising union members on a variety of employment matters such as dismissals, redundancies, pay disputes and discrimination & also sets up files for merits assessments. She is currently in the Wills & Probate department, and handles her own caseload of Wills, Lasting Power of Attorney & Life interest Trust files and drafts the relevant documents. Furthermore, she is involved in checking the validity of the Wills, answering inbound calls, making outbound calls to confirm instructions and setting up new enquiry files.
Sofhia recently passed her Legal Practice Course and Master’s degree in October 2023. Her goal is to attain a Training Contract and to ultimately qualify as a Solicitor advocate.
